The band comment on the track:
"Why You Scream" is a destructive relationship led through a mixing desk. A bass amplifer took fire. All these bloody fires to be put out. Sometimes love and reality doesn't relate to each other they way you want. And no matter how much you want recognition the consequenses could be horrendeous."
