No Joy: Junior (Single, 2012)

"Canadian noise-rock-shoegaze-sludge-doom-indie band No Joy have announced the details of a new EP, “Negaverse”, their first non-single release since 2010′s debut LP “Ghost Blonde”. First cut from the EP is “Junior”, a short but snappy rumble through a track that’s less “noise” than the tracks on their debut and tighter and more cohesive, probably a welcome turn for many who couldn’t get past the sheer wall of sound they created on “Ghost Blonde” (I’ll take them either way!). “Negaverse” will be release via Mexican Summer on June 19th and below you can fit your jaws around this behemoth" (listenbeforeyoubuy.net)

No Joy: He cried (The Shangri-Las cover)

"Montreal noise-pop-rockers No Joy are still touring their debut album”Ghost Blonde” that was released in November last year, and on this leg of the tour they’re not only jaunting it with Marnie Stern but are releasing a split tour 7″ vinyl too.
The vinyl will only be available at shows as well as few that’ll be for sale at Rough Trade shops and consists of Marnie Stern doing “Your Kids Are Going To Love This” and No Joy covering The Shangri-Las’s 1966 classic “He Cried”, but gives it a noise-fueled grungy vibe to it, you know,
in true No Joy fashion.
You can grab the track below and it probably won’t be long until we get Marnie Stern’s contribution, so check back for that" (Found in:
