Heavy Cream: John Johnny (Single, 2012)
"Look: sometimes awesome rock ‘n’ roll sounds a little dangerous, and that’s especially true when the women making it give the impression they’d be just as happy extinguishing their cigarettes on your neck as in the nearest appropriate receptacle. We love that shit (don’t judge us), so naturally we love Heavy Cream.
The Nashville foursome turns up and rocks out like it’s 1974 all over again on “John Johnny,” the free song from Heavy Cream’s forthcoming Ty Segall-produced second LP “Super Treatment.” With a heavy, foot-stomping beat, massive guitar and vocals at once candy-sweet and menacing, it’s a powerhouse song.
