"I don’t enjoy it when a song sounds similar to another song, let me just clear that up from the start, but I do enjoy it when parts of songs remind me of other songs. Especially when that song is one of my all-time favorites such as “The Summer Ends” by American Football.
Basically “Who Knows Who Knows” cuts a minute and a half from the intro, stays aligned for half of a verse, throws a solid drum line in the background and takes off into it’s own late nineties-influenced Vancouver-spirit-charged song that my teenage emo heart probably couldn’t have handled. Sunny Pompeii take the sound that made me fall in love with music in the first place and make it feel new again.
As the song progresses it develops into much more atmospheric noise and modern-seventies throwback which just shows that there are multiple fountains of inspiration these guys are drawing from. I’m sure there’s not much Sunny Pompeii aren’t capable of playing so it’s nice to hear this kind of influence surface in one of their songs" (Read: listenbeforeyoubuy.net)
