Sunflower Bean: 2013 (2014)

Couple bands can be really sickening. I’m so happy you’re in love and it’s Facebook official and I love looking at your make-out selfies on Instagram. Do you really have to play music together too? But I probably wouldn’t want to gag myself in the bathroom with a beer bottle while thumbing through my Instagram feed if every lover band were as sexy as Sunflower Bean. On their B-side to 2013 ‘I want you to give me enough time,’ they start out with a chill Velvet Underground sing along jam with boppy guitar lines that builds into a satiating wall of thick psychedelic noise fog. It then trails off into a noodling slide guitar fade out that completes the songs perfect quiet/loud balance. The only problem with the track is that it isn’t longer. “I wish Sister Ray was 4 hours long” reads their drummer’s recent status update. You should grant your own wish, there are plently of kids who would drop acid and listen to that. @sugarmamabk
