Because real rockers just don't know how to stop rocking, the guitarist from White Fence is getting ready to release his solo debut. And oh, how it rocks. Neither flurry nor blizzard properly describe the manner of the overlapping fuzzed guitars which cake the climax in "Born To Lose." What do you call just the right rate of snowfall? On a purely impressionistic level, the coital overdubs and There's A Riot Going On-grade degraded drum machine make you feel like you just stuck a Sharpie in your nose while standing in front of a bent mirror. Alternately, Jack Name kind of sounds like Marc Bolan in a dryer. His debut, Light Show, is apparently a concept album about global gang wars in the future. It's some good old fun, but factor in the ratty guitar tones and we're talking about a particularly crusty brand of good old fun. (adhoc.fm)
