Dead Professional: Don´t be cruel (Single, 2013)

Launched in February 2013, Dead Professional is the solo project of Virginia-based singer/songwriter John Harouff. Using rudimentary drum loops and a pair of vocal processors this one man band brings a brutally minimalist modern edge to old school song-craft that has been compared to that of Nick Lowe, Kurt Vile, Big Star and Tunnel of Love-era Springsteen. As a solo act or fronting his previous duo The Cinnamon Band, Harouff has shared the stage with the likes of The Hold Steady, Sharon Van Etten, Fiery Furnaces, Ariel Pink, Justin Townes Earle, The infamous Stringdusters and most notably, long-time tour mates The Handsome Furs (featuring Dan Boekner of Wolf Paradeand Divine Fits). Harouff has also played in several other groups including Jagjaguwar noise-pop trio The Union of a Man and a Woman, and as part of Man Forever, the drum-drone project of Kid Millions (Oneida, Spiritualized).
