"It has been a big six months for Bad Dreems after emerging from the weird murder hamlet of Adelaide at the start of 2012. Quickly earmarked by various pundits as a band to watch, they were Triple J Unearthed Feature Artists in April and selected as one of RRR’s Class of 2012. Their reputation as a raw and powerful live act saw them handpicked to accompany Children Collide on their 25-date national tour, as well as supporting acts such as Wavves (US), Cut Off Your Hands (NZ), Oh Mercy and The Reubens.
Following the downer pop of Chills and hazy nostalgia of Too Old, Bad Dreems now bring you Tomorrow Mountain, where rubbery bass lines are engulfed by a swirling wall of guitars.
“I never wanted a girl like you, I never wanted a friend like you, I never worry I think you do,” singer Ben Marwe drawls, echoing the brooding guitar melody. Thus begins the tale of another Sunday in Adelaide: bad comedowns, bleak futures, doomed relationships and paranoia at dusk. “I’m bored, I’m lonely, I’m scared.”
Some may hear shades Rowland S Howard here, as well as the abrasive melodies of In Utero Nirvana. Regardless, this is stirring, dark guitar pop and Bad Dreems have plenty more to come…
Come see what the fuss is about as Bad Dreems hit the road once again in 2012. This run of dates includes a supporting stint for slacker punks Step-Panther up the East Coast" (Bandcamp)
