Doing a lot with a little, “Hello, It’s Me” reveals itself to be a melancholy track built around a bittersweet melody that slices to the heart. Like the music on his self-titled album, this track sounds charmingly homemade. Such as is the nature of bedroom pop, it feels personal and a bit rough around the edges.
