"Brooklyn’s Oberhofer is getting all sorts of huge with his new track “Heart.”
I hate the term “ballad” so I’m not going to use it but “Heart” does fall as dangerously close as an indie song can get.
The piano, which begins oh so subtly, remeniscent of some sort of lullaby, develops into a pounding orchestration which is rarely found on this side of Ben Folds. The only song I can even think to compare this level of classical intensity with would be Fun‘s “Be Calm” … and I dig it.
The combination of what’s being played with Brad’s nearly, but not quite, baritone delivery is an unexpected juxtaposition that is an ideal mixture.
