Jungles: Nothing will grow (Single, 2012)

"There are few bands which I have been anxious to hear new material from more than Little Jungles. There’s something about the relaxed delivery combined with uncanny confidence that has stuck with me more than just about any other band which was new to me last year. There’s something these British Columbia natives have to offer that feels absolutely necessary in shaping the modern zeitgeist of indie music.
They combine so many elements in their songs, “Nothing Will Grow” being a prime example, in a way that catches me off guard each time I put their music on. They’ve got the songwriting style of
Broken Bells and Nerves Junior pressed right up against a relaxed Minus The Bear instrumentation which feels like a juxtaposition of home recording vibes with a formulated structure most weathered label veterans often strive for but rarely come close to capturing with even half the cool-certainty Little Jungles deliver.
This is the first track from their forthcoming I Would Kill For Some Sunlight LP that was original planned to be released on January 1, yet this is the only song they’ve given us from the album thus far. I have no doubts as to how great the album will be so the anticipation has had me checking all sources almost daily hoping to finally have the new project playing through my headphones.
From the very first note “Nothing Will Grow” brings everything that made us fall in love with them upon first listen of “Drive Yerself Crazy” right back into focus and at the same time makes it perfectly clear how they have barely even shown us how good they can be" (Listen:
