"I’m still a total geek for Dudes Die album Internet Party that I posted on here many moons ago. So I was happy to receive an email from the band a couple days ago telling me about this new monster of a track. It’s called “If We Don’t Win” and it’s the first thing to surface from their upcoming album Coloratura. If there was any promise to be found on Internet Party (and trust me, there was) then these Austin dudes take it and tie it to a rocket and send it careening into the atmosphere.
What makes this track so great is how clean they make psych-pop sound. Everything is snapped tightly in place. From the song’s arrangement to the harmonies to the slick production, it all feels right. It’s just a joy to listen to a track that is so meticulously put together without ever feeling overdone.
