"While Squalloscopes debut album Soft Invasions was about a restless journey, fleeting intimacies and a fearless drifting in between places, the Desert EP is an arrival of sorts, a postcard from someone who has found a temporary observation point. The Desert EP, in contrast to its predecessor, is more about metaphorical places than geographical ones. Recording didn’t take long, songwriting and production happened simultaneously. Sounds were continuously cut, sliced, looped and rearranged and in the end, the only truly acoustic instruments remaining were Squalloscope's voice, a detuned piano, and the sound of a spoon hitting against a shower tub" (Press)
